Stir Fried Beef Or Chicken With Vegetables

Stir things up at home with this beefy oriental recipe full of flavours. Just 5 minutes prep time and you’re ready to wok and roll.

300g lean beef eg steak (or 1 chicken fillets, approx. 350g)
100g frozen broccoli
100g frozen carrots or mixed vegetables
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
2 portions of straight to wok noodles
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 level tsp chilli powder
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsps sunflower oil
1 tsp vinegar
1 tsp gravy granules
Trim any fat from the meat and cut into thin strips.
Mix the meat strips, garlic and chilli powder with 1 tbsp sunflower oil and the vinegar, and leave to marinate in a shallow dish for 15 minutes.
Blanch the frozen vegetables by pouring boiling water over them and strain.
Heat the remaining oil in a wok or frying pan, add the beef and stir fry for 3–4 minutes.
Add the vegetables and cook for 5 minutes, adding 2 tablespoons of boiling water as you cook.
Add the soy sauce and the gravy granules, stirring well to mix them in. Add a little more water if it is too dry.
Add the noodles to the wok, warm through and divide between 2 bowls.
Serve in a bowl and add ½ tsp of soy sauce and 2 tsp of olive oil.
