225g lean ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
½ green pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 x 450g tin crushed tomatoes
50g tomato puree
2 tsp chili powder (more or less to taste)
1 tsp paprika
1 tin kidney beans
Household Staples
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vegetable oil
Method
Heat large pan with oil over medium heat and add beef, onion, garlic & pepper. Fry until meat is browned and vegetables tender.
Drain excess fat from pan.
Add remainder of the ingredients except for the kidney beans, reduce heat slightly and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add kidney beans, stir and simmer for further 15 minutes.
Serving Suggestion:
White rice, grated cheddar cheese & green onion.
